DSM and DTM are the best available off-the-shelf digital elevation data in the world.
Mapmart offers three different kinds of geospatial datasets from Intermap:
- Digital Surface Model (DSM) is a first surface view of the earth containing both location and elevation information.
- Digital Terrain Model (DTM), or "bald earth" in which it is often referred, is created by digitally removing all of the cultural features inherent to a DSM by exposing the underlying terrain.
- Orthorectified Radar Image (ORI) is a grayscale image of the earth's surface that looks very similar to a monochromatic aerial photograph. However, ORIs are able to accentuate features far more than it is possible with traditional aerial photography.

The National Elevation Dataset (NED) is a seamless mosaic of best-available USGS elevation data. The 7.5-minute elevation data for the conterminous United States is the primary initial source data. In addition to the availability of complete 7.5-minute data, efficient processing methods were developed to filter production artifacts in the existing data, convert to the NAD83 datum, edge-match, and fill slivers of missing data at the quadrangle seams. One of the results of the NED processing is a much improved base of elevation data for calculating slope and hydrologic derivatives.
MapMart sells DEMs in the following formats: USGS DEM, Vertical Mapper GRD, DXF Mesh, GeoTIFF, ASCII XYZ, RockWorks, Terragen, and Surfer Grid (Binary or ASCII). Some of these formats are available for immediate download by seamless custom area upon submittal of credit card and others can be generated at additional cost.
Geospatial elevation data set are utilized by the scientific and resource management communities for global change research, hydrologic modeling, resource monitoring, mapping, and visualization applications.

USGS SDTS Digital Elevation Models (DEMS) |

Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) are digital files consisting of points of elevations, sampled systematically at equally spaced intervals. MapMart sells DEMs in the following formats: USGS DEM, Vertical Mapper GRD, DXF Mesh, GeoTIFF, ASCII XYZ, Arc ASCII Grid, RockWorks, Terragen, and Surfer Grid (Binary or ASCII). Some of these formats are available for immediate download by quads or by seamless custom area upon submittal of credit card and others can be generated at additional cost.The default projection is UTM for 7.5' DEMs (the majority being in NAD 27) and Latitude/Longitude WGS 72 for 3 arc second DEMs with coordinates being in decimal degrees. Texture Maps can also be purchased with each DEM.

Mapmart introduces the Harris ImageLinks, void filled SRTM elevation data set
The Harris ImageLinks 3 arc second (approximately 90m) void filled SRTM elevation data set is composed of 14277 one degree by one degree DTED “cells” covering approximately 80% of the earth’s landmass between 60 degrees North and 56 degrees South latitudes.
- Large srtm voids were filled with 1km GTOPO while small srtm voids were interpolated.
- Filled voids common to multiple tiles were edge matched to ensure continuity.
- Horizontal and vertical accuracies match source SRTM except in void filled or interpolated regions.
- 3 arc second post spacing (approximately 90m).
- Longitude/Latitude lower left naming convention ie:e104n12.dt1.
- Total dataset size is approximately 36 GB (DTED format (not structure).

The other products available are ETOPO5, ETOPO2 and GTOPO30,. MapMart sells these DEMs in the following formats: USGS DEM, DXF Mesh, GeoTIFF, ASCII XYZ, Arc ASCII Grid, RockWorks, Terragen, and Surfer Grid (Binary or ASCII). All data formats are available for immediate download upon submittal of credit card with the data being cut to your specific project
area. The projection is Geographic (Lat/Long), WGS-84. Coordinates are in Arc-Degrees.

* This is latest SRTM version 2.0. Version 2.0 is the result of a substantial editing and it exhibits well-defined water bodies and coastlines and the absence of spikes and wells (single pixel errors), although some areas of missing data ('voids') are still present.
